2016 Outstanding Section and Branch Web Site Award

On November 3, 2016, the Montgomery Branch was notified by Mr. Don Wittmer, Chair of the Society Leader Training Committee (LTC), that the Branch had been selected as the recipient of the 2016 Outstanding Section and Branch Web Site Award in the “Small” Section and Branch membership category (<500 members).  The Montgomery Branch website bested 118 other small branches in the Society to capture this distinguished honor. According to the Director of ASCE Geographic Services, Mrs. Nancy Berson, the Branch website set a high standard of excellence for user interface design by creating a seamless experience for end-users, which has allowed for website activity to increase over 1100% in just two and a half years.

Mr. Brad Williams, Montgomery Branch President and Webmaster, represented the Branch at the awards ceremony. The award was presented during the 2017 Regions 1, 2, 4, and 5 Multi-Region Leadership Conference on Saturday, January 21 at the Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott in Newark, NJ.  The 2017 President Elect, Kristina L. Swallow, P.E., ENV SP, F.ASCE., presented the award.

The Branch website has been integral to connecting our members with each other and the Alabama Section and also providing updates and information from the Society.
